On Julianna Crowder is a dreamer, teacher and community leader. Opening in 2001, she owned a successful dance studio in Leander TX which included an award winning Competitive Dance Company, Mother's Day Out and Afterschool program known as Julianna's Performing Arts Studio. She is proud that she was able to "help raise other people's children" and contribute to the enrichment of hundreds of families in the Cedar Park/Leander community for seven years.
2007 Julianna's path took a very interesting turn, leaving her dance studio behind and pursuing a career in personal empowerment and self defense education in the firearms industry. With her husband John, they opened Capitol Area Practical Shooting as certified firearms instructors for the Sate of Texas Concealed Carry program and as NRA firearms instructors., Over 10,0000 students attended various programs in their 18 year run. During 2011 Julianna and John established 2 organizations still going strong today! First in February 2011, Julianna created a women's shooting club called A Girl and A Gun Women's Shooting League. AG & AG which started as one chapter in Texas is now a nationwide organization serving 275+ ranges and nearing 10,000 members that participate in local, regional and national events. Then in August 2011, John and Julianna launched Capitol Area Practical Shooters (CAPS Club) hosting rifle, pistol and shotgun competitive matches.
December 2018 she felt her dance roots calling her home and the need for her body to move in a functional and meaningful way as injuries were becoming a more common occurrence in everyday activities. Julianna joined Club Pilates to rebuild her body and it wasn't long before the educator inside of her was called and enrolled in instructor training July 2019, becoming fully certified in December 2021. Feeling completely fulfilled with her journey at A Girl and A Gun and John leading CAPS Club fulltime, Julianna retired in July 2022 from the firearms industry to work full time as a Pilates Instructor, once again starting from the ground up building a new career and adventure in her life! Her continuing education is centered around her intuitive abilities as a bodyworker and rehabilitation methods using Pilates as the main driver.
There is more to come in Julianna's story, stay tuned!
