Why I'm a Certified Scolio-Pilates® Practitioner?
I do not have scoliosis, but became passionate about the program after attending a workshop with Karena Thek, founder of Scolio-Pilates in 2022. In just 2 hours of lecture and movement I knew this would be my educational and training goal for 2023. For us "non scolio spines" we were propped up in a way to induce scoliosis and experience the instability, somewhat painful movement a "scoli spine" experiences every day. February of 2023 I began studying with Karena, and had an amazing mentorship with Danielle Vernon, PT, ISST, BSPTS, SEAS, MDT, SSOL and Lyon Methods of ScolioAustin, who is also a Scolio-Pilates Practitioner. I learned way beyond just scoliosis and have a new passion for the spine and ways to help you to love yours!
I use Scolio-Pilates to serve my Pilates clients with an assessment that may indicate the presences of scoliosis or other condition of the spine that require specific modifications and corrections for their Pilates practice to safe to their body and create the most positive changes they can in their daily lives.
