What is a Bodyworker?
A bodyworker is a practitioner who uses a variety of techniques to manipulate the body to promote physical health and well-being. Bodywork can include massage, relaxation techniques, and other types of touch and manipulation. Julianna is not a licensed massage therapist, but she is a comprehensively trained Pilates instructor with additional certifications and continuing education credits that enable her to use gentle hands on correction as well as props and equipment to guide the body.
Bodywork is based on the idea that people may develop unnatural ways of moving or holding their bodies due to injury or stress, which can lead to discomfort and health problems. The goal of bodywork is to realign and reposition the body to help it move more naturally and gracefully. In a time frame as little as four weeks, Julianna can help you achieve change in your body and empower you to maintain those positive corrections with self care at home, office, gym or Pilates studio.
Bodywork is different from massage therapy in that bodyworkers aim to make long-term changes, while massage therapy, chiropractic, assisted stretching, etc typically use the same strokes each time. Julianna loves the above mentioned methods so if you love them too its ok! Bodywork will help you maintain those corrections longer in the body, with the intention they become self care maintenance not an everyday dependance.
